Nat
With 13 years in the Australian Federal Police, Nat brings rock-solid reliability, discretion, and a calm, capable presence to every house and pet sit. She spent seven of those years in VIP Protection, safeguarding Australia’s politicians, heads of state, and international dignitaries—so she’s no stranger to high responsibility, attention to detail, and thinking ten steps ahead.
Nat also served with the United Nations in East Timor during a time of unrest, where she navigated unpredictable situations daily, often in challenging conditions. That experience sharpened her adaptability, situational awareness, and ability to stay cool under pressure—skills she now brings to caring for homes and beloved pets with the same steady hand. Whether it’s a power outage, a sick pet, or just keeping things running smoothly while you’re away, Nat handles the unexpected with calm confidence and genuine care.
Jodie
With over 15 years in resort and accommodation management, Jodie brings a wealth of real-world experience to every house and pet sitting role. Her grounding in hospitality began as a teenager, helping out in her family’s coach touring business before they moved onto running a busy motel & restaurant. After four years in banking straight out of high school, Jodie returned to her roots in tourism, diving into a long and diverse career in hospitality and resort operations.
Jodie has managed properties in some of Australia’s most iconic locations, from the inner city to the remote outback. Her career shaped not only a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility, but also a deep respect for people’s spaces and lifestyles. Years in the service industry have finely tuned her communication skills and made her adaptable, reliable, and warm—qualities that now make her a trusted house and pet sitter.
Our Professional Life
We’re also the creators of the House Sitting Academy, where we’ve trained hundreds of travel-loving humans to become rockstar house sitters—trusted, skilled, and ready to care for homes and pets with confidence. Our passion for house sitting runs so deep, we even wrote the book on it—literally! It’s called International House Sitting, and it’s packed with everything we’ve learned from years of full-time sits around the world.
We've also been featured in a chapter for a National Geographic book, and lucky enough to be featured in the media.
